Element Computer - Linux Laptop Information and Sales

Well it looks like we have a company called Elonexone who have decided to launch a laptop at the £100 mark, here is some information about the laptop:

Aimed at the Education Sector, the ONE is an ultra-portable laptop that gives wireless access to internet, eMail, word processing and spreadsheets. These functions are the fundamental building blocks which form the foundation of a child’s computing skills which can then be developed throughout their education. The ONE is designed to engage and motivate children and will open up a wide range of new and innovative teaching methods.”

The laptop will be available to reserve from early March and you can See the ONE at the NEC Birmingham from 28th Feb to 1st Mar. Elonex will launch the ONE laptop in Hall 11 at Stand SW-T51.

Ubuntu project seems to be the Linux distribution of choice with most linux laptops being bundled with the OS.

Of course with anything new people will always be hesitant to change, a few years ago so many people could not even contemplate who would have thought a laptop without windows.

Scary thoughts for many windows users, however the price difference is worth giving the linux laptop a test run.

A brand new laptop at half the cost?
Well maybe not half the cost but a substantial price difference to most new windows laptops offered by a majority of stores.

There are now new laptops being sprung up all over the internet at some of the biggest branded sites with prices as low as £200 ($400).
